Although when it happens people obviously post about it looking for help here, the side brush is one part I’ve never had an issue with in 13 years of Roomba ownership. I wonder if their motor supplier just needs better QA to avoid the occasional dead unit slipping through the cracks.Its a killer crossing, because the side-brush motor gets substituted by a wheel-drop switch. The drop-SW has a closed-resistance of much less than one ohm (just measured one at 0.1 ohm), while the nominal effective resistance of an operating side-brush motor is OtO of R_mtr ~ 15 / 0.25 = 60 ohms..
